Your October 2025 Turkish Wine Horoscope
Hello autumn! We passed the autumnal equinox last month, and it seems that the weather is responding appropriately with lower temps. Huzzah! I don’t know about you all, but I am seriously looking forward to sweater weather.
Let’s hope October has more good things than just cool weather in store for all of us. I, for one, could really use a good break. Find out what kind of month the universe has in store for you below.
Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Paşaeli may have got to this grape first, but that didn’t stop Suvla from being a bit of a Karasakız trailblazer. It was the first winery to make a rosé with this, my personal favorite grape and create, what happens to be, one of my personal favorite rosés.
Most people think – erroneously! – that rosé is just for summer. This month, open a bottle of Suvla Karasakız Blush. It’s not a namby pampy pink wine but a seriously flavorful and savory rosé that showcases this still sadly under the radar grape’s delicious character. If Suvla isn’t afraid to highlight this fantastic grape with some pretty great wines, you shouldn’t be nervous about sticking out your neck for projects you believe in either.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
October is here to remind you that life isn’t just about comfort zones (yes, even yours). A shake-up in your routine could lead to something surprisingly fun. Go ahead, try the new restaurant, switch up your style, or say yes to that unexpected invitation.
Work-wise, you might find yourself juggling more than usual, but your steady approach keeps things grounded. Just don’t forget to carve out some lazy evenings to recharge — cozy nights are your secret weapon this month.

Chamlija likes to see itself as a real pioneer with the Papazkarası grape. To be fair, the winery does make several wines with it and did so before it really became popular. This month, take that cozy adventurer energy and channel it into a slightly more expensive wine than you might normally buy and get a bottle of the Chamlija Kara Sevda.
Look for this at places like Comedus, Mensis Mahzen, Casa Botti, Dekante, Iyi Sarap, Savoy Tekel, Solera, I think I’ve seen it at Macro Center, Santé Wine & More seems likely to have it…it’s not a hard get in any case.
Gemini (May 20 – June 20)
October is buzzing for you, Gemini. Your social calendar may fill up fast, and you’ll thrive on the extra chatter and connections. This is a perfect time to share ideas, brainstorm, and collaborate — just make sure you leave a little breathing room before you say yes to everything.
You may find yourself craving deeper conversations mid-month. Don’t be afraid to go beyond small talk — you might just discover something game-changing about yourself (or someone else).

I feel very Lieutenant Colonel John “Hannibal” Smith right now and must paraphrase with … “I love it when the universe comes together!”
Your soft, velvet tidal wave vibe this month translates perfectly to your wine: the Vinkara Mahzen Narince*. So beautifully made that, even if you’re anti-oak in white wine like I am, I promise you’ll love it. And maybe it will help to know that it’s aged in oak AND acacia! I think Vinkara might be the only winery here using acacia.

Let’s match your vibe and theme with a confident but playful wine this month! Çamlıbağ bills its Ayapetro Kırmızıdan Beyaz as a blanc de noir rather than a rosé, but its delicately pale pinky color means the wine kind of walks a fine line between the two. Lively, super food-friendly, and made with Bozcaada’s signature grape Kuntra (i.e Karasakız), it’s a nice wine for those lingering warm days as we head into fall.

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

Grab those cozy socks and an equally cozy wine this month: Antioche Barburi. Winery founder Abud Abdo remembers this grape from his childhood when he helped his grandparents forage for it and make wine. And as a wine, it’s as unpretentious, easy, and comfortable as it gets. This is a great wine to drink while snuggled up with a move and some popcorn or with dinner – it’s super food friendly.

Libra (September 23 – October 22)

Yusta Bursa’s wines are still a little tricky to find. Twins Coffee carries some of their wine. I heard a rumor Macro Center might carry it. Casa Botti, Dekante, and Grand Cru also all seem like likely candidates.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 22)

This is not a secret at all, but it certainly contributes to the wine’s magnetism! In the Cote Rôtie, of France’s northern Rhône Valley, winemakers co-ferment Syrah with the aromatic white grape, Viognier. This softens the super-ripe Syrah grapes from the hot “roasted slopes” of this part of the Rhone and adds perfume to the bouquet. Am I advocating for you to drink French wine this month?! Perish the thought!
No, you need go no farther than pretty much anywhere that sells wine to find the Turkish take on this with the Kayra Versus Syrah-Viognier.

Sagittarius (November 23 – December 22)

Take that adventurous spirit and try what likely may be a new to you wine this month: Asmadan Bağban Karasakız . A nicely made, elegant wine with not too high a price tag! Much to my delight, Karasakız has really caught on over the last couple years and Asmadan is just one of the wineries offering it now.

Capricorn (December 23 – January 19)

Starting a winery in any country is a huge undertaking. There are any number of reasons why people get into the wine business, but for the three families behind the first modern, commercial Assyrian winery in Turkey, Shiluh, their big-picture goal was to share their history and culture. One of the coolest things about Assyrian wines is that there are grapes in Southeastern Anatolia that exist nowhere else. That’s a big part of the local culture to share with wine lovers!
This month, try the Shiluh Kustan. This wine blends together two rare grapes from the area: Kerküş (or Karkuş as you prefer) and Mazrona for a truly interesting Assyrian wine and cultural experience.

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)

Hold onto your hat because I’m about to drop something shocking: a Chardonnay recommendation! But not just any old Charodonnay: Uçmakdere Firuze Chardonnay. Made by a talented winemaker, this wine, with just a kiss of oak, will please even ABC drinkers. It totally matches your vibe this month: dreamy but with depth.
