Your March 2026 Turkish Wine Horoscope
With the up and down weather this winter, there’s no way to predict if spring will come in like a lamb or a lion. Regardless which animal the season decides to imitate, personally, I just hope it sticks to the one personality. They say spring is not for the faint-hearted, so we need to gird our loins, grab a good bottle, and prepare for the battle.
What does this month have in store for each of us? Read on to find out!

Aries (March 21 – April 19)
March doesn’t wait, and neither do you. Momentum builds fast, and the best thing you can do is move. Stop revisiting old decisions; they’ve already expired. When you trust your first instinct, things fall into place faster than expected.
Power Move: Finding clarity through action.

Since it opened, Kuzubağ winery has created one great wine after another. As a champion of the Çal region and Çal Karası, of course that grape takes a central place in their catalog. But making just a red wine wasn’t enough. There was also a rosé in the first vintage, followed by a white, a sweet, and soon something new…Kuzubağ is not resting, but boldly moving onto the next thing, as should you. Pick up a bottle this month of the Kuzubağ Çal Karası Blanc de Noir and borrow a little of the winery’s boldness.
Get this from places like Casa Botti, Comedus, İyi Şarap, Mensis Mahzen, and Rind.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
This month tests your patience, but rewards it deeply. March is about planting seeds, not forcing results. Something you’ve been quietly working on starts showing signs of life. Stay steady. You’re closer than you think.
Power Move: Letting persistence beat out urgency.
Your Vibe: Calm focus, quiet strength.

Persistence may not look sexy, but it gets results. Take Kayra. This is not a winery that releases splashy wines but, since taking over from Mey, has continued to move forward at a slow and steady pace putting solid, (usually) well-made wines on the market. One of the best, to boost your power move and chase away any lingering winter chills, is Kayra’s Vintage Boğazkere.
Pretty widely available, you can find this at places like Carrefour, Macro Center, probably Migros, La Cave, Mensis Mahzen, Dekante, Comedus, Solera, Grand Cru, etc.
Gemini (May 20 – June 20)
March brings movement: mentally, socially, emotionally. New ideas arrive quickly, but the real power comes from choosing which ones to run with. One honest conversation changes your direction in a big way.
Power Move: Speaking your mind clearly.
Your Vibe: Sharp mind, open path.
The wine for you …
Kastro Tireli has been clear about its intentions and path from the winery’s very inception: organic, clean farming, and wines directed by nature. This means the fruit they bring into the winery is clean and healthy. It also means that they’re able to ferment their red wines with native (or ambient or wild, as you prefer) and maintain consistent quality and style. This month, indulge in a bottle of the Kastro Tireli Syrah Mourvedre blend and let the winery’s conviction in its ideas firm up your own.

Reşit Şöley, founder and owner of Corvus winery, doesn’t seem like the type who’s ever asked for permission to do much of anything. Moreover, his confidence and early marketing (before that was banned) positioned Corvus wines as one of the most well-known and popular brands available. This month, snag a bottle of his Corvus Zeleia Vasilaki and get a little of that confidence for yourself.
Fairly widely available, get it from Carrefour, probably Migros, Macro Center, İyi Sarap, and any number of tekels.
Leo (July 23 – August 22)
March reminds you that leadership doesn’t always mean being loud. Your presence speaks volumes when you’re aligned. A moment of recognition comes when you least expect it, because you stopped chasing it.
Power Move: Leading by being real.
Your Vibe: Grounded glow, quiet authority.
The wine for you …
Your vibe this month could describe no other winery than Tomurcukbağ. Its founder Prof. Dr. Y. Sabit Ağaoğlu is the undisputed godfather of the Kalecik Karası grape. An unassuming man, generous with his knowledge and experience, he is the hoca of everyone who works with or aspires to work with this grape. Drink a bottle of Tomurcukbağ’s Trajan Kalecik Karası this month to give your vibe a major boost.

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
This month is about momentum through simplicity. March asks you to release unnecessary pressure and focus on what actually matters. Progress speeds up when you stop micromanaging every detail.
Power Move: Being more impactful but doing less.

That power move of yours, less effort more impact, that’s a lot to think about. How do you achieve something like that? With inspiration! To get that, turn to Thracian winery, Arda. Arda has been making its Gala Papazkarası blanc de noir wine for years now. But this year, it managed to make a much bigger impact with far less effort. How so? The 2025 is wild fermented! Wait what?? How do you wild ferment a wine with no skin contact? Papazkarası has very strong yeasts and apparently, this year, they were just ready to go and began fermentation while the grapes were being pressed.
Even if you’ve had this before, look for the 2025 now. It’s something else.

Libra (September 23 – October 22)
March puts the focus on alignment. If something feels off, it probably is. You’re encouraged to recalibrate: relationships, routines, and expectations included. Saying “this isn’t working” opens space for something better.
Power Move: Creating balance with honesty.
Your Vibe: Self-aware, refined, intentional.
The wine for you …
I love it when I, ahem…the universe…can find the perfect wine to match a vibe. This month, you’re resonating on the same wave length as the Vinolus Kalecik Karası. Vinolus farms with intention, determined to maintain balance with nature, i.e. not taking out more than it’s putting in. The principles of sustainability reign here in the vineyards, the winery, and even in Sunolus, the hotel. That level of self-awareness and care result in one of the most refined Kalecik Karası wines in the country.
Find this in many places. Mensis Mahzen, La Cave, Santé Wine & More, Dekante, Casa Botti, Mahzen 26, Grand Cru, try Solera, Comedus, La Commune, even Macro Center and Carrefour sometimes have this.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 22)
March brings emotional truth to the surface, but this time, you’re ready. A shift in perspective frees you from an old pattern. Let go without needing closure from anyone else.

Anyone willing to open a winery in Turkey has to be at least a little fearless, but Ceylan Ertörer Diaz Leon from HUS Şarapçılık is among the most fearless. She and husband Juan Pablo Diaz Leon started the winery in 2017 and, tragically, Juan Pablo died in 2021. Ceylan has soldiered on, turning HUS into one of the premier wineries in Urla with a fantastic list of wines and (from what I hear) a brilliant restaurant.
Evoke her fearlessness this month and try the HUS Supernova, a blend of Carignan and Alicante-two unusual grapes for Turkey (adding another whole level of fearlessness!).
Look for this at places like Solera, La Cave, possibly İyi Şarap, Mensis Mahzen, Casa Botti, la Commune, or Gözde Tekel.
Sagittarius (November 23 – December 22)
This month re-ignites your sense of purpose. March is about remembering why you started. Inspiration returns when you commit to something meaningful instead of chasing the next distraction.
Power Move: Moving with intention.
Your Vibe: Optimistic, directed, alive.
The wine for you …
One of my favorite winery origin stories is about Nif. When Gaye Özcan and her family started the winery, she was told that she had to plant Bordeaux grape varieties. That success wouldn’t be possible without them. Instead, she made a 100% Sangiovese and, more than 10 years later is still laughing at the guys who told her it couldn’t be done. This month, use her story as inspiration to strengthen your own sense of purpose and try the Nif Bağları Sangiovese.

Capricorn (December 23 – January 19)
March rewards long-term thinking. You’re seeing results from effort others didn’t notice. A decision around work or responsibility puts you in a stronger position moving forward. Keep building.
Power Move: Maintaining patience.

The wine for you …
Around the world wineries cellar their wines (usually red, sweet, and sparkling wines but sometimes also white) and only release them after a few years, either when they’re ready to drink or with the caveat that they could cellar longer. Very few wineries in Turkey do this. This is down to a few different reasons, but among them are patience and long-term thinking (or lack thereof). One winery that’s different is Chateau Nuzun. Nazan keeps back her red wines for a few years while they settle and gives them time to fully realize before putting them on the market.
Take a leaf from her playbook this month and drink a bottle of the Chateau Nuzun Cabernet Sauvignon.

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)

Innovation. Coming up with the new, being the first to make the discovery, there’s a lot of pressure to do it but no easy paths to take to get there. Innovation takes commitment, bravery, and a crap ton of hard work. Wrap your vibe around you this month and supplement it with the energy of one of the greatest innovators in Turkish wine by drinking the Paşaeli Çalkarası blanc de noir.

Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
It’s your season, and the energy is personal. March is about self-definition; who you are becoming and what you’re done carrying. You’re allowed to choose yourself without guilt.
