Your November 2025 Turkish Wine Horoscope

Cooler temperatures and grey skies mean that it is time to get cozy with warm sweaters and big wines! I used to like really full-bodied, tannic reds with lush fruit flavors when I wanted something for cold weather days. These days, though, I find these wines over-blown and too “in your face”. I vastly prefer a medium-bodied red with more moderate tannins and a savory-earthy forward flavor profile. All our tastes change throughout the years. While I used to love Cabernet Sauvignon, I’d be happy to never again see another bottle of it. 

What’s your go-to comfort wine? Will the universe bring you something this month that will challenge your palate? Let’s find out!

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

You’re feeling unstoppable this month, which is great — just remember that “unstoppable” shouldn’t apply to interrupting people mid-sentence. Channel that bold energy into something constructive, like actually finishing one of the 47 ideas you’ve started.

Power Move: Say no to distractions (even the shiny ones).

Your Vibe: Hot sauce in human form.

The wine for you …

Speaking of unstoppable…your wine this month is the Chateau Nuzun blend. What does this have to do with being unstoppable, you might be asking. The year of Chateau Nuzun’s first commercial harvest, a late season hailstorm decimated the vineyards. While it spared a few grapes here and there, none were left in a quantity that would allow for a varietal wine. Winery owner Nazan Uzun was not deterred! She gathered all the grapes to make it through the storm and created the winery’s eponymous blend – which was a hit.

Fairly widely available, find it at places like Carrefour, Casa Botti, La Cave, Macro Center, Mensis Mahzen, Rind, etc.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

You want cozy, comforting, and maybe a little bit luxurious — and honestly, who could blame you? November is your excuse to stay in your softest clothes and call it “self-care.” But don’t let comfort turn into avoidance; the world still needs your steady brilliance.

Power Move: Set one big boundary and refuse to explain it.

Your Vibe: Candlelit calm with a hint of stubborn.

The wine for you …

People find comfort in different things. Some, for example, might find it in predictability. While on the surface, that might sound boring, it doesn’t have to be. Take the HUS Öküzgözü – Boğazkere. This is the red blend of Turkey and one might find comfort in a tried and true blend like that. Moreover, HUS is nothing if not predictably great! So, you can also also take comfort in knowing you’re going to get a good bottle of wine with them.

Find this at places like Casa Botti, Dekante, probably Grand Cru, Gözde, İyi Şarap, Mahzen 26. Mensis Mahzen, etc.

Gemini (May 20 – June 20)

You’re running on caffeine and clever ideas, which is pretty much your natural state. This month, you’ll talk yourself into (and out of) several plans before breakfast. Before you commit to anything new, make sure you actually want it and not just the story of it.

Power Move: Choose depth over dopamine.

Your Vibe: A spontaneous group chat that somehow becomes a revolution.

The wine for you …

What does “depth” mean? It depends on the circumstances really. It can simply be a measure of distance, or it can mean that something is complex and layered. While I don’t recommend being “deep in your cups,” I do recommend a wine with depth, like the Saranta Chateau Murou Kalecik Karası. While I can’t believe I’ve never posted about this wine, it is an  interesting example of the grape from Trakya and will be something you want to dive into and discover each new revelation. 

Look for it at Mensis Mahzen, Grand Cru, probably you can also find it at Dekante, maybe Casa Botti or La Cave.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

You’re deep in your feelings — again — but this time you’re not drowning, you’re learning to surf. The emotional growth is real, and people are noticing your glow-up. Don’t be afraid to show your soft side; it’s actually your secret weapon.

Power Move: Say how you feel without apologizing for it.

Your Vibe: Emotional intelligence with main-character lighting.

The wine for you …

Show off your soft side this month with a semi-sweet wine like the Kayra Leona Bloom. If you’re not a fan of sweet wines, don’t be hating on this one! It is only lightly sweet but that is what makes it both so very easy to drink and also so very food-friendly!

This should be a relatively easy wine to source! Carrefour, Macro Center, Migros, your local tekel (as well as “proper” wine shops) will likely carry this wine.

Leo (July 23 – August 22)

Spotlight’s on you (as usual), but this month, you might prefer the stage lights dimmed a bit. You’re craving authenticity over applause. Let your confidence come from within — not from how many compliments you collect.

Power Move: Do something generous and tell no one.

Your Vibe: Quietly iconic.

The wine for you …

There is only one wine right now that hits that “iconic” moniker: Büyülübağ Avşa Adakarası. You’ve had the rosé before and now it’s time for the red. But why iconic? As of May 2025, Avşa Adakarası is Turkey’s first EU-approved Geographically Indicated (GI) wine. This is huge! This is the first major step towards an appellation system in the country.

The team behind getting this done worked so hard for this accomplishment. Sadly, it doesn’t mean that the wines are now more easily available. Of the three Avşa wineries, Büyülübağ is really the only one we see in Istanbul. Here, you can get the wine at Comedus, Le Conte Wine & Whiskey, and Solera for sure. Let me know if you see it elsewhere.

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

Your to-do list could power a small nation, but November’s asking you to chill. Not everything needs optimizing, and sometimes “good enough” is actually perfect. Try embracing a little mess — it might surprise you how liberating it feels.

Power Move: Schedule unscheduled time.

Your Vibe: Organized chaos, emphasis on organized.

The wine for you …

Match your vibe with a winery that doesn’t tame, but organizes chaos. Nature is chaotic! And when you choose to farm and make wine with little to no intervention, the end results can be majorly unpredictable. Tomurcukbağ lets nature do its thing with a bare amount of influence and refining. Tomurcukbağ’s Trajan Kalecik Karası defines organized chaos. 

Find it at Mensis Mahzen, La Cave, Dekante, sometimes the Suvla shops carry it. Let me know if you see it elsewhere!

Libra (September 23 – October 22)

You’ve been people-pleasing so long your own needs sent a missing-persons report. This month, you’re rediscovering what you want. Spoiler: it’s not always balance — sometimes it’s just being left alone with your snacks and peace of mind.

Power Move: Make a decision without polling the group chat.

Your Vibe: Aesthetic rebellion.

The wine for you …

To help you get that balance, you need a balanced wine! Turkey has a surprisingly deft hand with Pinot Noir and the latest on the market is the Barbare Pinot Noir. Beautiful, balanced, a classic example of Pinot.

Look for it at Dekante, İyi Şarap, Macro Center, Mensis Mahzen, Santé Wine & More, possibly Casa Botti and Rind…

Scorpio (October 23 – November 22)

November is your era. You’re magnetic, mysterious, and mildly terrifying (in the best way). Everyone wants your attention, but you’re too busy plotting your next big move — or transformation — to care. Use that intensity wisely.

Power Move: Drop one secret project that no one sees coming.

Your Vibe: Smoke, mirrors, and major main-character energy.

The wine for you …

This month, treat yourself to a big, bold, lush wine like the Urla Şarapçılık Boğazkere. Unlike other wines you know from this grape, Can Ortabaş grows his Boğazkere in Urla. While I think it’s a nuts place to grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Boğazkere in this warmer, fertile zone gives a broader expression of the grape with full, ripe tannins. 

Try finding it at Carrefour, Macro Center, ask Mensis Mahzen, Savoy Tekel and La Cave sometimes carry it…it’s around somewhere!

Sagittarius (November 23 – December 22)

You’re in your “say yes and figure it out later” phase, and honestly, it’s working. Adventure’s calling — even if it’s just a new restaurant or mindset. But remember: running away isn’t the same as running toward.

Power Move: Plan something spontaneous (yes, that’s possible).

Your Vibe: Philosophical chaos with a carry-on.

 The wine for you …

Your wine this month is so many things (including one of my personal favorites). The Paşaeli Merman Çalkarası hits that ‘spontaneous’ note you’re feeling in that the winemaker uses native yeasts to allow for a “wild” spontaneous fermentation. Moreover, apparently the universe hasn’t seen fit to previously recommend any Paşaeli wines for you! A huge oversight on the part of the universe…but at least you’re starting with one of tneir best! 

Find it at places like Comedus, Le Conte Wine & Whiskey, Mensis Mahzen, Mahzen 26, Santé Wine & More, Casa Botti, Dekante, Solera, sometimes La Cave. 

Capricorn (December 23 – January 19)

You’ve been grinding harder than a coffee bean, and it’s time to pause before you turn into dust. November’s whispering: rest is productive too. Reconnect with the “why” behind your work — or at least take a nap.

Power Move: Cancel one meeting and don’t replace it.

Your Vibe: Sophisticated exhaustion with ambition sparkle.

The wine for you …

This month, you need a wine as sophisticated as the vibe you’re throwing off. Try a bottle of 7Bilgeler Vinedmia Göküzüm. Clean, well-made, bright flavors and acidity, this is one of the latest examples of Gök to hit the shelves and another native grape from 7Bilgeler’s growing portfolio. 

Look for it at Casa Botti, Comedus, Dekante, İyi Şarap, La Cave, maybe Mahzen 26, Mensis Mahzen, etc. 

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)

You’re done pretending to be normal. This month is all about embracing your quirks, weird ideas, and big-picture thinking. The world needs your brand of different — even if they don’t get it yet.

Power Move: Pitch the wild idea anyway.

Your Vibe: Eccentric genius meets soft rebellion.

 The wine for you …

You need something a little off the wall to match your eccentric genius vibe this month. Try the Tanenda Caladoc. You’ll (likely) find that this is a new to you grape to explore! A cross of Grenache (Noir) and Malbec, this grape was developed in southern France (as one might imagine) and there’s a little of it floating around Trakya. Aromas of red fruits, sandalwood, and tack room leather give this wine a real kick. Drink it this month OR cellar it for a while.

Find it at Mensis Mahzen, Mahzen 26, possibly Grand Cru, Santé Wine & More, Casa Botti. Not so easy to source but not the most difficult. 

 Pisces (February 19 – March 20)

You’ve been drifting in your dream world, but November gives you a creative jolt that actually sticks. Don’t underestimate your intuition — it’s leading you exactly where you need to be (probably somewhere with ambient lighting and good music).

Power Move: Trust your gut more than your group chat.

Your Vibe: Mystical daydream with practical sparkle.

The wine for you …

I love how perfectly the Suvla Yapıncak Pét-Nat fits your vibe, Pisces. It’s a pét-nat, so you’re getting the sparkle, but it’s so reasonably priced! Which also makes it practical! When was the last time you had a practical sparkling wine?! And bonus, it’s pretty yummy too!

Really only available from Suvla stores but there are a number of them: Cihangir, Levent/Kanyon, Caddebostan, etc.
