Hello, heatwave! July has cannonballed into the pool of your life with flip-flops, sunscreen, and power outages due to everyone turning on their air conditioning. Whether you’re road-tripping with your ride-or-dies, firing up the mangal, or just trying to keep your houseplants alive, this month promises surprises that are as spicy as a sidewalk taco stand.

I don’t understand summer people. Although, to be fair, I don’t understand winter  people either. It’s just too hot. If only the universe had air conditioning in store for me. Let’s see what wine it has in store!

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Today in overly bold decisions and caffeine-fueled confidence…

You’re feeling unusually motivated, which is both exciting and vaguely concerning to those around you. Before you commit to a new project, hobby, or attempt to “fix” something that isn’t actually broken, maybe just sit with that impulse for five minutes. See if it survives a glass of water and a snack.

Socially, your energy is infectious. You may inspire others to follow your lead, or at least stand back and watch with a mixture of awe and low-grade panic. Try not to schedule three major things for the same hour—you can’t be everywhere, and cloning isn’t quite there yet.

Overall: high potential, medium chaos. Keep a to-do list. Maybe even look at it.

The wine for you …

In a month with a lot of potential, you need a grape with a lot of potential! This month, drink Akberg Osmanca. So far, the winery has given us a delightful, fresh white wine and a very pretty sweet wine with this grape…now Akberg has also released a new wine, the Lethe Osmanca. Looks like this grape is just getting started showing us what it can do!

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

The month of slow and steady… and maybe a little stubborn.

July rolls in like a warm, cozy blanket—and you, being Taurus, are absolutely fine with that. You’d prefer it didn’t roll in too fast, or disturb your routine, or involve anything vaguely experimental in the culinary department. That said, a bit of change might sneak in, disguised as a “minor adjustment.” Try not to treat it like a personal betrayal.

During the month, you may be faced with a decision that requires flexibility. You’ll want to dig in your heels. That’s your instinct. But maybe, just this once, try lifting one of those heels and see what happens. (Spoiler: the world will not end.)

Money: you’re feeling responsible, but also slightly tempted. Yes, that thing looks nice. No, you don’t need five of them.

Overall: pleasantly predictable with mild bursts of “Ugh, fine, I’ll do it.” Progress is being made. Quietly. Just the way you like it.

Progress in the wine world can look like a lot of different things. In some cases, it’s seeing how previously neglected grapes can gain popularity. Such is the case with Patkara. This Mediterranean mountain grape was ignored for a long time. Then, wineries like Tasheli and Selefkia started producing interesting wines with it. Now it’s really caught on with wines from Heraki, Yaban Kolektif, and 7Bilgeler. This month, try the Tasheli Patkara.

Gemini (May 20 – June 20)

You’re thinking a lot. Talking even more. Acting… occasionally.

July arrives with a flurry of ideas, half-finished to-do lists, and the vague sense that you might be forgetting something important. (You are. It’s fine. It’ll come to you around 3 a.m.) Your energy is high, your curiosity is endless, and your focus—well, let’s not pretend that’s the headliner here.

Socially, you’re in your element. Friends, coworkers, strangers at the grocery store—you have thoughts to share and jokes to test. Just try to let other people talk occasionally. They’ve probably been rehearsing their two sentences for hours.

Work and creative projects may flourish this month, especially if you stop jumping to the next thing right before finishing the current one. The thrill of starting something new is real, but so is the satisfaction of actually checking something off. Allegedly.

Enjoy your fast-paced and chaotic month! But to help those projects flourish, take some inspiration from the new Heraki rosé. This wine blends Karasakız, Çal Karası, and Patkara creating power, elegance, and most importantly of all, balance.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

It’s your season. Cue the feelings. All of them.

July has you in full introspection-and-blanket mode, even if it’s 35 degrees outside. You’re extra attuned to emotions—yours, other people’s, that song you heard at the cafe that somehow triggered a memory from third grade. It’s not bad, just…a lot. Pace yourself. You don’t need to process the entire human condition by Thursday.

At work / in your personal projects, you may feel pulled between wanting to retreat and the quiet guilt of not doing enough. Reminder: rest is productive, even if it doesn’t involve a spreadsheet.

Overall: soft on the outside, determined on the inside. Kind of like a crab. July suits you—just don’t try to carry everyone else’s emotional luggage the whole way.

This month, drink a wine that makes you feel all the emotions: Saranta’s Chateau Murou Semillon takes you on a journey through layers of fruit tree and citrus fruit, chamomile, and lanolin all with an intriguing viscosity on the palate. You’ll feel surprised, elated, satisfied, and so many more things as each sip shows you something new.

Leo (July 23 – August 22)

Your time is coming. But let’s not pretend you haven’t already noticed.

July has you shaking out your mane, ready for your entrance. Technically your season starts later in the month, but why wait for the spotlight when you can casually stand near it until someone hands you a microphone? Confidence is high, hair is good, and your dramatic inner monologue is fully operational.

Socially, you’re magnetic, charming, and maybe just slightly exhausting—but in a lovable, main-character kind of way. People will flock to you for inspiration, entertainment, or snacks. Be gracious. Accept praise. Maybe share the snacks.

Financially: a touch extravagant, but with flair. Go ahead, treat yourself to that thing that screams “iconic”—just maybe whisper it to your budget first.

Overall: Big energy, growing momentum, and a soft launch into your personal peak. July is the pre-party. Don’t peak too early. Save something for your birthday.

This July, you Leos need a wine serving main character energy! Something big, bold, unforgettable! This month therefore, try the Midin Baluto Karkuş. Karkuş, like you, is rare and fabulous. It creates fascinating amber-toned wine without any skin contact at all! There are TWO so make sure you read the label carefully and decide which you might prefer: Baluto Karkuş, or Baluto meşeli Karkuş with oak. 

Look for it at places like Mahzen 26, Mensis Mahzen, possibly Rind or Casa Botti or Gran Cru as well. 

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

You’ve made a list, checked it twice, and now you’re judging it for being inefficient.

July brings a curious mix of productivity and quiet existential dread about whether you’re being “productive enough.” Spoiler: you are. But that won’t stop you from reorganizing your schedule, rethinking your five-year plan, and alphabetizing something unnecessary just to feel calm again.

Things around you may feel suspiciously quiet. If nothing’s falling apart, resist the urge to find something to fix. Not every silence is ominous. Some are just…peaceful.

Socially, you may find yourself alternating between being extremely available and “accidentally” missing texts. You love people—you just also love boundaries. Both can coexist, preferably with some buffer time.

Overall: stable, self-improving, and semi-secretly craving a nap. July gives you room to breathe, but only if you let it. Perfection is overrated. Try “done and mostly fine” for a change.

The one place perfection is not overrated is in wine! This month, you should be drinking a wine that comes pretty darn close to perfection: Shiluh Mazrona. You may not be too familiar with this grape. For years it’s been buried in Shiluh’s Kustan white wine. Now, they’re making a varietal wine with this grape that comes from the Turkish border with Iraq and Syria. And the wine is as interesting as the grape’s provenance. 

Also do yourself a favor when you drink it and let it sit outside the fridge for 10-15 minutes before you drink it. 

Look for it at Gözde Tekel, Dekante, Mensis Mahzen, possibly Vinus, and elsewhere.

Libra (September 23 – October 22)

Balanced on the outside, mildly overwhelmed on the inside—just how you like it.

July arrives like a breezy brunch invite: charming, full of potential, and slightly noncommittal. You’re feeling social but also vaguely tired of people; decisive but only until a second option appears. Classic. The good news is, most of your indecision this month leads to decent outcomes—if not the best, then at least something aesthetically pleasing.

Work and projects may require a few actual decisions. You’ll want to weigh every possibility and consult at least one friend, two tabs, and a pros-and-cons list. Just remember: sometimes “good enough” is the adult answer.

Financially: moderate spending, with occasional lapses into “treating yourself” via candles, matching sets, or things that look good on a bookshelf. It’s fine. Just don’t forget rent exists.

This July, treat yourself to good wine that won’t break the bank with Sevilen Yapıncak. Not only is it a surprisingly economic wine (seriously, go to Boldy!) but it might help inspire you with your decision making. Sevilen’s winemaker Sibel went from intern to head winemaker based on her grit, talent, and decisiveness.

Scorpio (October 23 – November 22)

Calm on the surface, plotting five moves ahead beneath. Relaxing, in your own intense way.

July feels a bit like someone whispered “chill” at you and you’re trying to take it seriously, but also wondering what they really meant. You’re more introspective than usual this month—not brooding, just…strategically quiet. Think of it as emotional recon.

People may interpret your calm as disinterest. It’s not. You’re just watching, waiting, collecting data like a highly intuitive detective who also needs alone time. Let the world underestimate you; it makes your next move more fun.

Socially, you’re magnetic in that “I might tell you something deep or disappear for a week” way. Both are valid. Just maybe text people so they don’t assume you’ve ghosted them out of spite (unless you have, in which case—carry on).

Scorpios, to match your energy this month, you need a wine that’s both intense but chill. Something you can casually sip but that has POW flavor and body. Get a bottle of Kavaklidere Bornova Misketi. It’s quite a lovely wine really, dry, full of grape character, and very easy to drink. Too easy actually, especially with a 14% ABV. 

Pick up this wine at Carrefour, Iyi Sarap, Mensis Mahzen, Macro Center, larger Migros. 

Sagittarius (November 23 – December 22)

You’re feeling adventurous, philosophical, and slightly allergic to sitting still. Again.

July shows up and so do you—barely unpacked from your last mental or literal trip, already planning the next one. Whether it’s a getaway, a career pivot, or an impulsive attempt to “redefine your personal truth,” you’re chasing meaning at full speed. Just maybe check the map first.

You’ll feel energized and optimistic this month, which is great. But enthusiasm doesn’t replace planning, and spontaneous decisions still come with consequences—even if they’re funny later. Especially if they’re funny later.

Social life? Bustling. You’re the friend people text when they want something exciting, or slightly reckless. Embrace your role, but maybe have one low-key night where you don’t end up debating philosophy with a stranger in someone else’s kitchen.

Exploring is what some of the Turkish wineries do best. 7Bilgeler started safe with the local market by making wines with common European grapes. But the last few years, the winery has started to explore making wines with native grapes. First some of our more common grapes, and now a handful of the more unusual ones. This month, try one of his newest: 7Bilgeler Vindemia Rüzgar Karasakız Rosé.

Capricorn (December 23 – January 19)

On the outside: calm, capable, composed. On the inside: making lists, forecasting outcomes, low-key judging everyone’s life choices.

July is a “slow and steady wins the race” kind of month—exactly your tempo. You’re not here for chaos or vague plans. You want results, clarity, and maybe five uninterrupted hours to finally get things done without someone emailing “just circling back!” for the fourth time.

Work and responsibilities continue to be your comfort zone, which is impressive but also slightly worrying. Maybe take a day off. Or at least pretend to. No one will notice if you log out 15 minutes early—except you. And even then, you’ll feel guilty. Try it anyway.

Socially, you’re balancing being dependable with secretly wishing everyone would get their act together. You care deeply; you just don’t have time for nonsense. Let people vent—but don’t take on their chaos as your side project.

Take that day off this month and do it with a wine as dry as your humor: Sagavin rosé. This is a tricksy kind of wine that sneaks up on you with sweet fruit at the front the POW! A perfect wine to drink while unwinding on a hot July day.

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)

You’re buzzing with ideas that might change the world—or at least your neighborhood coffee routine.

July feels like a brainstorming session with a side of “why not?” Your mind is firing on all cylinders, jumping from one genius plan to the next with little regard for practicality or time zones. That’s your superpower—and occasionally your kryptonite.

Socially, you’re raring to go and ready for plans. Sometimes, though, others don’t respond as quickly—or at all—and that’s okay. Don’t take it personally if your messages go unanswered for a bit; people have their own rhythms and distractions. 

Work and projects could benefit from your unique perspective, but try to follow through on at least one idea before you leap to the next. Multitasking is your default mode, but even you can only juggle so many flaming torches.

Because those words define all of Gelveri’s wines and because they’re not easy to find, open any one of those that you can find: Kalecik Karası, Hasandede, Keten Gömlük, or the even rarer İt Üzümü or Kızıl Üzüm.

 Pisces (February 19 – March 20)

Drifting through July like it’s a daydream with a to-do list tucked somewhere under the clouds.

This month, you’re all about the feels, the vibes, and the occasional existential question that pops up mid-coffee sip. You might find yourself zoning out at inconvenient times, but hey, inspiration often strikes in the daydreams no one else can see.

Socially, you’re the empathetic friend, ready to listen to everyone’s stories—even the ones that sound suspiciously like reruns. Just remember to check in with your own emotional battery before signing up for the full support squad. Self-care isn’t selfish, it’s essential.

Soft, bold, even sparkles! That’s what Çal Karası is all about! This month, marry that flexibility with summer vibes and uncork Paşaeli Çalkarası Seahorse. This fruity-citrusy-herby rosé is just oh so enjoyable! And, with it’s moderate price point, is a great options to buy a couple bottles and keep them on hand.
